I thought I'd start a thread where you post a link to a screenshot of your menubar in OSX and explain what apps you have running there.

It's always interesting when you see people's screenshots when you find apps you never knew about.

Ideally you should post a link to a screenshot and also include links to any/all apps that you are running in the menubar.

Here's mine to start it off, I've posted it onto Flickr and put notes for each icon on the menubar, but I'll list the apps here too:

<img src="http://farm1.static.flickr.com/175/440036122_34ec231025.jpg" width="500" height="20" alt="My OSX Menubar on 30-01-07 21:00:00" />

My menubar apps:

I've got

  • Skype
  • Adium
  • Quicksilver
  • Virtue Desktops (to dissapear as Leopoard is released)

Thanks a bunch for that RSS Menu thing. I was tired of having NetNewsWire in my dock.

As for my menu, it's really nothing special:

  • RSS Menu
  • Twitter

I've got Adium, Audioscrobbler, RSS, Airport, Bluetooth, Volume, Battery.

  • last.fm
  • clock
  • fast user switching
  • spotlight
  • I have quicksilver running but I disable the menubar icon.

Ooh I'll keep an eye on this. I haven't figured out how to take screenshots yet, so no pic, but: Quicksilver, Google Reader Notifier, Gmail Notifier, Slife, Adium, Last.fm, Twitter, AirPort, Volume, Battery Meter.

Rich: To take a screenshot, command-shift 3. To take it of only part of the screen, command-shift-4.
To take it of a window, command-shift-4, then Space.

Here we go then. (Thanks JulianBH!)

Hey what AudioScrobbler plugin is that? My iScobbler has a "musical note" icon.

The official one from the last.fm website. iScobbler, I believe, is only for syncing music played on iPods?

I love notes like these. They always lead me to so many neat goodies. :)

Having a network monitor is fantastic, couldn't live without it. Handy to see if that flash file or streaming video has stalled or is actually loading. I use netmonitor although menumeters is a good free alternative. Netmonitor can show bits/s or bytes/s which is handy.

The skype button is used as a "is the internet working?" indicator. Green means you're online. Very handy if you're doing network stuff.

isdereks: What are all your icons? What's the RSS Feed one?

Thanks for everybody's contributions, lot's of interesting menubar apps!

@rickcurran: I believe that that's Google Reader Notifier....

Here's mine:

I'll snap mine tonight and bring it to work with me :)

(having NO web access @ home sucks BTW)

Pretty basic over here: adium. quicksilver. twitterific. gcal, gmail, last fm. I like to keep it pretty simple in my menu bar.

OK, this is embarrassing - but how do I insert/upload the image :-)

I just used photo bucket and used the html tag

Will give that a go then - in the morning!

CastCount is an application I got built for a bit of fun just to give me something that I wanted re accessing my podcast subscriptions

Mine from left to right:

Virtue Desktops
Salling Clicker
CoverSutra
Bluetooth
iChat
iSync
Airport
Volume
Date
User Name
Spotlight
